 Nuzyael 17-19

In the wee hours of Nuzyael 17, the beating of Nethen begins. After beating out a confession of his crimes, you leave him for the constable. Along the way home, you run into a very oddly dressed man. Following him, you ambushed by a bunch of odd looking gargun. The oddly dressed man keeps throwing small, square objects at the gargun. Upon contact the cubes blow up into a huge burst of flame (and I grow sad that TJ never rolled for pyro).

After defeating the small band, the man steps into a sarcophagus and suddenly disappears. Shortly after, the sarcophagus disappears, too. When you turn around, all of the dead gargun are gone. Was it all a dream?

Upon returning to the cave, you all sleep for a time. In the morning, Bors heads into town to sell gear and make some $$. he returns with some pints of ale, which Silas drinks up, then drinks the rest of the wine in the cave, becoming very drunk, and passes out, sleeping for yet another day.

The large man called Bors finds himself alone the next moring, his smaller friend apparently intent on sleeping away the entire day. He glances at his friend and grins, for a small man he put down quite a bit last night, yes it will be quite some time before he comes to. Spending several minutes pacing around the room, Bors eventually plops onto one of the beds and considers his days activities. Their firewood supply was getting a bit low, and physical labor is a good way to start the day.

Decided, Bors stands up, cursing as he hits his head on the ceiling. He rubs the top of his head as he walks towards the entrance, stopping to retrieve an axe along the way. After crawling through the entrance, Bors does his best to conceal it again, then begins walking further into the forest.

The morning air is crisp and cool, the soft crunching of leaves and twigs are heard underfoot, and birds are chirping in the trees above. It doesn't take long for the large man to find a suitable tree, at a reasonable distance from the hideout. He sets himself to work, settling into a rhythm, his mighty axe strokes quickly carving through the tree.

Quintin rises from the ground and crawls out of the small cave so he can stretch. After a nice long stretch his muscles begin to feel a little more loose and ready for activity. He decides to follow Bors into town and use the time while Bors sells some goods to meet with Straken.

In town Quintin returns to find Straken. He notifies a guard that he has returned with important information for Straken, and needs to meet with him at Straken's convenience. Quintin then waits nearby for Straken to summon him. As he waits Quintin slowly whittles away at a piece of wood.

The next morning Quintin wakes up early while the others are still asleep and makes his way out of the cave. He shakes as the chill morning air fills his lungs. After stretching his arms and legs so they once again feel loose and ready to go he crawls back into the cave and retrieves his equipment. He packs light: his bow, 25 arrows, his dagger, and his woodland clothes. He grabs a few pieces of ration meat and heads off into the woods to hunt for game. After walking for about an hour he slows his pace and begins looking for signs of recent animal activity.
